The National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is held twice a year to recruit young aspirants into the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force as officers.
Successful candidates are admitted to the NDA in Khadakwasla, Pune, where they undergo three years of joint training. After this, they move on to specialized training at their respective academies:
- Indian Military Academy (IMA) – Army
- Indian Naval Academy (INA) – Navy
- Air Force Academy (AFA) – Air Force
Eligibility:
- Nationality: Indian
- Gender: Only unmarried male and female candidates
- Age: 16.5 to 19.5 years
- Education:
- Army Wing: 12th Class pass
- Air Force & Naval Wings: 12th pass with Physics and Mathematics
Exam Pattern:
- Written Exam (900 Marks):
- Mathematics: 300 marks
- General Ability Test (GAT): 600 marks
(English + General Knowledge) - SSB Interview: 900 marks

Training:
Selected candidates undergo joint training at NDA, Khadakwasla (Pune) for 3 years, followed by training at respective service academies (IMA, INA, or AFA)

Objectives
